CBT

Dr. Zakarin uses treatment methods that have clear empirical support behind them, with a particular emphasis on Cognitive Behavior Therapy (“CBT”). CBT has been shown to be extremely effective for a wide range of symptoms and problems, including depression, anxiety, OCD, anger, and insomnia. Treatment is goal-directed and involves a partnership between the patient and therapist focused on gaining tools and strategies for coping and change. Together with the therapist, patients examine the causes, consequences, and maintaining factors associated with anxiety and related problems, and learn how to manage symptoms, cope with challenging situations, and build skills to improve daily functioning and overall quality of life.
